1 THE GAS EXCHANGE SYSTEM

By the end of this lesson you should be able to:

a- Identify in diagrams and name the larynx, trachea, bronchi, alveoli and associated capillaries.
b- Describe the structures named above.

By the end of this lesson you should be able to:

a- Compare the composition of inspired and expired air.
b- List the features of gas exchange surfaces.
c- Describe gas exchange at the alveolus.

3 BREATHING

By the end of this lesson you should be able to:

a- Describe how volume and pressure changes lead to ventilation of the lungs.
